Hamlet History Hop

Hitch your horse to the buggy and join us in the 1800’s for a day of good old-fashioned fun, including:  walking tours of Vischer Ferry with Gerardus Clute (visiting us from 1856), beginning at 10:00; hayrides along the Erie Canal towpath beginning at 11:00; old-fashioned black and white portraits taken from 11:00-2:00; a visit from bird expert John J. Audubon himself; live Civil War-era music by Paddy’s Boys from 11:30-1:30; antique cars and firetruck on display from 1:00-4:00;  informational booths about the Mohawk-Towpath Scenic Byway and Clifton Park Historic Preservation; 19th Century woodworking demonstrations; Historic Preservation and Open Space Awards 1:00; Hamlet History talk by Town Historian John Scherer at 2:00; and a Chicken and Biscuits dinner at Amity Church from 4:00-6:30 (tickets required in advance).
