Learn the basics of tapestry weaving in this beginner weaving workshop.  During this class led by Courtney Salerno (@madeby_cjk) you'll create your own woven wall hanging and learn:

-how to set up the warp thread on loom

-weaving stitches including rya knots, rya loops, tabby weave, pile weave, and soumak weave

-how to add fringe

-how to weave with fibers of various weights and textures

You'll leave with a small wall hanging and the skills to create more on your own.  Registration includes all the materials necessary to make a small wall hanging, including a loom, warp thread, weaving shuttle, needle, yarn and dowel for hanging.  Participants get to keep their loom and weaving tools.  Courtney will bring some completed pieces for inspiration.  Please note that weaving can be slow going.  If you do not complete the project during class, you'll leave with the skills needed to finish on your own.
